Julian's Spring Break started Thursday before Easter so we took off to the park that day and I took some photos. We went on the annual Scout Family Campout this weekend up near Blackshear, GA. A couple whose sons used to be in the Troop invite the Troop up every year to campout on their 300+ acre tree farm. This was a big weekend for JT! Not only did he get his black belt, but he also earned his Arrow of Light in Cub Scouts. The Arrow Of Light is the highest rank in Cub Scouting, and is the only badge of Cub Scouting rank that may be worn on the Boy Scout uniform. To earn the Arrow of Light badge, a Cub Scout must earn the Webelos badge plus five additional Activity Badges from selected groups.

Tim and JT drove down to Miami on Friday for a karate tournament. I wasn't able to go because I had a baby shower I was helping put together for a friend. JT did great and ended up in a tie breaker for Forms and won! So, he came in 1st for Forms, 1st in Weapons and 2nd in Sparring! He received a trophy for each so he now has 3 trophies from this tournament and 3 medals from the last.

JT stepped out this year and surprised us by joining the Jaguar Chorus at school. They had their first concert in honor of Veteran's Day. The kids did a great job singing quite a few patriotic songs and I was amazed at the talent of a few of the soloists. They not only sang Thursday evening for the parents and guests, but they performed 3 times on Monday for all the kids in the school.

The Cub Scouts went camping at Oleno State Park this weekend. Tim is the Cubmaster, so he put alot of time in getting things ready for the weekend. The first night ended up being a VERY wet night for everyone. Many people got flooded right out of their tents and ended up sleeping in their cars. JT LOVES karate. He has been taking karate for 6 months now and he seems to live and breathe it. He is in the Leadership program and absolutely thinks the world of all his instructors. At the suggestion of JT's teacher, we took him to get his eyes checked yesterday. I didn't think there was a problem because he had been screened at school and nothing was noted. We went to visit Jenny at the lake in Melrose where she's now living and JT had a blast. First he went for a swim in the lake, although he was a little creeped out about it.
